Ramata Almamy Mbaye has been Director of the Social and Human Sciences Sector of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) since 2019. Sociologist, Ramata has more than 25 years of professional experience in international and intergovernmental organizations, where she has held strategic positions that have enabled her to develop and influence strategies, policies, and programs for the protection, education, empowerment, and leadership of children, youth, women, and vulnerable groups in conflict and crisis contexts. Ramata has been very involved in consolidating and creating alliances and networks to encourage synergies of actions and multisectoral approaches in social transformations. Ramata Almamy Mbaye is a leader whose dedication to girls education, youth development, conflicts prevention and peacebuilding, Sport for resilience, reintegration, reconstruction, rehabilitation and reunification. She has left an indelible mark on Africa and the Islamic world. Her work at ICESCO continues to pave the way for future generations, fostering resilience, dialogue, and inclusivity at every level.
