Cheick Cissé Sallah Junior is a taekwondoist from Côte d'Ivoire. He competed at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in the under-80kg category, winning Côte d'Ivoire's first Olympic gold medal. He is also a three-time African taekwondo champion, and a double gold medallist at the 2015 and 2019 All-Africa Games.In 2023, he becomes world taekwondo champion, in Baku, Azerbaijan, winning the gold medal. In 2024, he won the bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Beyond his sporting career, Cissé is an ambassador for the Heart Angel Foundation, an organization that supports vulnerable children in Africa by giving them access to education, healthcare and sporting opportunities. In this role, he leverages his platform to advocate for positive change and inspire young people, particularly through sport as a means of personal development and empowerment.
