Charmaine Crooks, born in Mandeville, Jamaica, is a Canadian athlete specializing in the 400 m, 800 m and 4 Ă— 400 m events. She was the first Canadian to break the two-minute barrier in the 800 m, and held her national record until September 20, 2001. She took part in four Olympic Summer Games and, in 1996, was Canada's flag bearer at the 1996 Games in Atlanta.
Charmaine Crooks was elected President of Canada Soccer in May 2023. She is also a member of the Champions for Peace Club, where she leverages her platform to empower youth through sport.
