Mohammed Ben Sulayem, a prominent figure in motorsport, is best known for his achievements as a rally driver and his leadership in the automotive sports sector. Born in Dubai, he dominated Middle Eastern rallying in the 1980s and 1990s, becoming a 14-time FIA Middle East Rally Champion and winning over 60 international rallies, making him one of the sport’s most accomplished drivers. His transition to sports administration saw him serving as the President of the Emirates Motorsports Organization (EMSO) and as FIA Vice President, among other roles.In December 2021, Ben Sulayem made history as the first non-European elected President of the FIA, succeeding Jean Todt. His campaign focused on enhancing diversity, expanding motorsport globally, and promoting sustainable mobility. His leadership is seen as pivotal in adapting the FIA to modern challenges, aiming to broaden the sport's appeal and strengthen its sustainability initiatives.
